There are two trays listed on t/t.com. One in Budd Lake and one in Highland Lakes. Has anyone gone to either of those trays and how did you like it? Wish gas prices as they are, I am hoping one of them is worth the trip.

I've been to the Blue Ridge Rescue Squad one last year and the prices are fair and the prizes are good. Never been to the Athletic League one so I can't comment. Good luck.

i went to the highland lakes one and i didnt like it at all...plenty of prizes but they were letting children hold tix and put tix in the prizes which is totally illegal and made it very noise in there. Plus they would not shake the tix in the pot.

I also went to Lakeland Animal Haven and it was a nice tricky tray. The prizes were decent the prices were great and the caller was good. They kept it moving right along! There is to be a tricky tray up the street from it on Sept 30th. I cant remember the name of the place, it is a church. Maybe someone else knows? Someone at Lakeland said they went to it last year and it was good. Whoever knows please post and let everyone else know.

I went to the Lakeland Animal Haven one as well. The caller was excellent and the prizes were good. $5 a sheet or 5 for $20 is probably about average now, but could be a little cheaper. The only thing that upset me was that the site mentioned to call ahead and you would get an extra sheet (6 for $20). Called Tues. and she said it was too late. Wouldn't honor it. Explained with the price of gas and the fact that I was coming an hour away it would be nice if she would honor it. Still wouldn't budge. Will only go close to home now with the price of gas. So sad!

Went to Lakeland Animal Haven TT. Excellent regular prizes. Good Specials and nice lottery prize. Value good - no separate admission - liked that. Got the advanced at 6 for $20 which was a great bargain. The September 30th Tricky Tray is for the Rosary Society and is being held at St. Theresa's School in Roxbury (just on the other side of Route 10). It is a very good one but usually very crowded - GET THERE EARLY. I have seen people with advanced reduced price tickets get there and not have a seat.

TO THE PERSON WHO COMMENTED ON THE ST. JOSEPH'S TRICKY TRAY....I WAS THERE LAST YEAR AND IT SEEMED LIKE EVERYONE WON SOMETHING - THEY HAD SO MANY TRAYS. THIS YEAR THEY ARE HAVING OVER 200 TRAYS VALUED AT OVER 100$ AND SOME OF THE SPECIALS ARE VALUED AT OVER $1,000 BUCKS. I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL OCTOBER 21ST EITHER!!

I went to the Lakeland Animal Haven tricky tray and the prizes were great. It was well run and we were out early. They gave us plenty of time to get advanced sale tickets by advertising at least a month in advance. I will go again next year.

I went to a TT in Totowa last night. The prizes were nice and the prices were great. The caller was good and kept it moving. I noticed ALOT of bent tickets. When I brought it to the attention of the person who was to pick and call the numbers he said "what do you want me to do" I said maybe you can make an announcement (like they did at Lakeland Animal Haven) that you will not be calling bent tickets. He said he was not going to do that. He couldnt understand what my problem was. I said bent tickets are cheating and therefore anyone didnt bend the tickets would not get a fair chance after spending their money. He said the "benders" spent their money too and could do whatever they wanted to. I told him I would post this on the Tricky Tray Blog and he laughed and said go ahead. I would like to credit Animal Haven for making the announcement at their tricky tray and if more organizations would not honor a bent ticket maybe that practice would stop. I wonder how the ticket benders would feel if they spent $50 and then found out their tickets were not going to win because they were bent. Cheated probably! Well that is how people who play fair feel. Maybe it is time the shoe is on the other foot!

About 10 or so trays in two people raised their hand - and both tickets checked out! They couldn't make up their mind what to do. At first they were offering cash for the value of the basket (about $30). Then they were offering baskets that they made up from leftovers. Then they were offering addtional specials tickets. It was wild! A few people stepped forward when their number was one of the duplicates and declined the prize because they knew they hadn't put in tickets for it. Maybe about 15 of the 200+ were duplicate ticket numbers. I don't know if they used some of last year's tickets or if there was an error at the printer. They were the 4 digit tickets.

On a positive note, though, the prizes were pretty good and the prizes were pretty good.

I reluctantly went to Lakeland animal havens tricky tray I heard it was good last year so I decided to go it used to be really bad and I only went to help the animals and was I extremely please with the prizes and the prices. It was excellent! they must have different people doing it ,can't wait til next year. What a Difference!

BENT TICKETS ARE BECOMING A PROBLEM. MYSELF AND FRIENDS GO OFTEN SPECD ABOUT $200 BETWEEN THREE OF US. I ASK THE CALLER BEFORE PURCHASING TICKETS IF THEY ARE GOING TO CALL BENT TIKCETS IF SO I WILL NOT BUY ANYMORE. IT IS A FORM OF CHEATING AND MY TOWNSHIP MAKES US POST IT ON WALL AND MAKE ANNOUNCEMENTS THROUGH OUT THE NIGHT. IF THEY BEND TICKETS AND YOU PUT YOUR HAND IN TO PULL OUT TICKETS YOU ARE MOST LIKELY GOING TO PULL THAT ONE. THEIR ARE PEOPLE WHO BEND TICKETS EVEN SPENDING $5.00 TICKET AND THE CALLER DISREGARDS TICKETS I KNOW WE DO, SO WHAT A WASTE FOR THAT CHEATER.......EVERYBODY WANTS AN EQUAL CHANCE. Where is your Township? I would be happy to attend where I know they dont call bent tickets. I would much rather know ahead of time so I dont have to drive somewhere and find out they are going to call bent tickets and then leave. I WILL NOT be spending one more cent at any TT who is going to call bent tickets. All my friends feel the same.

To the organizations who are holding tricky trays:
It would be nice if when you post your event you could include whether you are going to honor bent tickets. With the price of gas, no sense driving a distance to turn around and leave!

Gosh, the discussions on here have been slow considering the fact that the tricky trays are picking up in frequency now. I went to the t/t at St. Stephen's in Perth Amboy on Sept. 25. My first time there and a good one it was. Prices were very fair (I felt) and they had a lot of nice prizes. However, the only BIG prize to speak of was a TV. Nice group of people who did an excellent job. One t/t that I will go back to next year. Also, I'm going to St. John's in Clark this Friday. There are very few good ones in my area, so I've started traveling a bit to find them. Thanks to TrickyTray.com!

Who thinks TT admissions are getting rather expensive? We like the ones with dinner but cannot attend as many as we would like because it becomes too expensive. What happened to all the ones that were just regular normal TT's with $5 or so admission?

I agree - TT admissions and overall costs seem to have gone up. I usually don't mind higher ticket prices if the quantity and quality of the prizes are very good. TT's that include a dinner and "entertainment" (as I see some of them now offer) don't interest me. Keeping it simple is better.

Have you all noticed that more events now advertise "No Children Admitted"? How do you feel about that? I personally think that the kids should be left home.

Just got appropved for my home equity loan so I can go to one of those fancy dinner tricky trays!! LOL LOL...I think people think there is a law about kids and gambling but I know at the race track kids can go..they just can't bet..I'm sure the same principles apply at a tricky tray

That's correct....You have to be 18 to participate in a TT. Children can be present but cannot handle the tickets or merchandise. Would be boring for a child, I would think, if they were told they can't play.

I'll tell you why more TT's have no children allowed. Because some, not all, people who bring children don't watch them properly. Maybe because they get so caught up in the fun or because they never really watch them to begin with. Children run throughout and sometimes knock over the containers etc. Last year we were at one where the kids were switching the tickets from container to container. We saw them doing it and spoke up but it was already too late. That is why children aren't allowed. In the end of it all, I wound up winning 4 prizes. I never put a ticket in any of those prizes. We had a really really good time that night, lots of laughs about the "mystery prizes" we were winning and I met a whole table full of people I liked and have seen at different tricky trays ever since. From that time on everyone asks me how I'm enjoying my Cowboy Picture Frames!! LOL now you all know who wrote this!!

Does anyone miss all the tricky trays that were during the day on the weekend? That wwas a fun afternoon out with friends. Not everyone can attend at night. Seems like the majority of TT's are at night this year.

Mr. TrickyTray.com made it to the Mine Hill PTA on Saturday. You may have even seen me (Is that correct grammar?) or is it saw me. Been a long time since I have been in school. Anyway, The regular prizes were ok, quite a few with many similiar. The high end prizes were ok too. Had a TV and a $100 money tree. The 50/50 was almost $700.00.
I didn't win that but did win a game basket that my niece and nephew should enjoy. Also Thanks to all...Last Month, September, was a record month for the number of individuals visiting www.trickytray.com. Keep spreading the word.

The Sayreville theater one was pretty good from the previous week. The children were well behaved.
The Boy Scouts in Clark was disappointing. 500 people and not enough prizes. The largest prizes a Dell computer, TV, large tent etc were good, but the smaller tables didn't have a good value.
No bent tickets called at either! Good for them.

Also went to the Sayreville one. Thought the pricing was odd. The first level tickets were so cheap (50 cents a sheet)- it seemed like a big jump to get to the next level (6 tickets for $5, I think). And the second level tickets were for prizes that are entry level at most tricky trays. But there sure were a lot of prizes!
The Boy Scout one had been on my list, but couldn't go at the last minute. Looks like I didn't miss much.
What are the good ones for this coming weekend? Heard good things about Camp Auxilium and Sisters of Christian Charity.

technically it is illegal for children to be present-but being that it is rarely enforced-many people allow it-I use to purchase and use tickets as a minor-shortly after I turned 18-tricky trays (then called chinese auctions started excluding children
